I enlisted almost 50 years ago, after just turning 17 and getting my parents sign off on me. One of the best things I’d ever done, as I was on the road to no where. My youngest son is a SSgt in the USAF.
September 18, 2020: The United States Air Force (USAF) was formed as a separate branch of the U.S. military on September 18, 1947, under the National Security Act of 1947. Today we celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the USAF! Thank you to all who have served or are currently serving in the USAF!!!!!!
