Most men born before 1956 served in the military. I served during Vietnam. My father, all my uncles, and my cousin all served – as did many of my ancestors during the Korean War, World Wars, Civil war, War of 1812, and Revolutionary War. Hell I had Ancestors and Kings who fought in 1200-1400 battles. Most 20th Century Presidents served. Both Bush(s), Nixon, LBJ, Carter, Theodore Roosevelt – even FDR was the Secretary of the Navy – and Reagan was drafted to make propaganda movies and shorts. That all pretty much stopped after Vietnam – because that was the first battle designed to not win. It was run by Liberal Politicians and not real warriors.
