Lighting Horrible, and it is first time in 20 years I spoke in front of 500 people, so there were a few too many uhs. I didn’t prepare a speech as I didn’t want to sound like I was reading.
Since I have a closet full of Top Ten jackets (they only gave to Champs this year) that don’t fit, I talked them into buying me a 3-ply Nomex racing jacket and embroider the back, sleeves, and name on it instead. Convinced them I’d be worth the cost as a walking billboard at track.

I have a size 13/14 Ring finger and they got everyone a size 11, so I guess I have a pinky ring.
Really bummed on the trophy. For the last five years NHRA and NMCA partnered up for the Full Throttle series, and the Champ got a big Wally at end of year. This year after the season was 3/4 over, the NHRA renigged on the big Wallys for the Champs. Very shitty of them!
So instead we got this thing, it nice, but sure as Hell isn’t the Big Wally promised at the beginning of the season.
